Sean Stutt
What Sean has found to be the most rewarding aspect of his work as a therapist is the ability to help others gain the confidence to break through mental barriers and overcome life challenges. By supporting those in becoming more self-aware and awakened to the "chattering" of the mind that we as humans so often mistake for reality itself, he has been able to assist his clients in living fuller, more engaged lives. These new insights allow for a better understanding of how beliefs and attitudes about ourselves, others in our lives, and the world we live in influence our daily lives. With a mindful and holistic approach, new choices become possible and personal growth beckons.
Sean has received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, as well as teaching mindfulness skills. These models provide an increased understanding and awareness of the influence of our thoughts and feelings on our behavior, as well as gaining insight into their root origins. Sean works collaboratively with his clients, helping them to feel more empowered to persevere and engage more proactively on their chosen path.
Sean believes successful and meaningful counseling begins and ends with the amount of trust a client has in their therapist, as well as the significance a therapist places on the client being involved in the process of setting goals for treatment. In addition, Sean is an EMDR consultant in training (CIT) who enjoys supporting and collaborating with other clinicians in getting the most out of their practice using EMDR as a therapeutic approach and model of treatment.
