I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, Consultant and Trainer through EMDRIA. I specialize in complex trauma, PTSD, abuse, women and children/adolescent issues, drug & alcohol issues, co-occurring disorders, Military/Veteran/Law Enforcement/First Responders and their families, LGBTQIA+ issues, and severe mental illness populations.
EMDRIA requires 10 hours of consultation by an Approved Consultant in EMDR as part of the foundational training process.
EMDRIA requires 20 hours of consultation by an Approved Consultant in EMDR as part of the certification process.
Functions of Consultation (According to EMDRIA Training Standards)
•Use of EMDR therapy within a structured treatment plan
•Application of the standard EMDR Therapy procedural steps
•Case conceptualization and target selection
•Client readiness including inclusion, exclusion, and cautionary criteria for EMDR therapy
•Client safety and effective outcomes using the standard EMDR Therapy procedural steps
•Integration of EMDR Therapy into therapist’s existing clinical setting
•Specific application of skills
•Consultation is about real cases and not experiences that occur in practicum

Individual sessions are available in person, phone or video conferencing (Skype, Facetime, Zoom) and are individually arranged.
Availability for individual consultations are Mondays until 1pm EST, Wednesdays until 7pm Est and Fridays until 5pm EST. Saturdays and Sundays may also be arranged.
Individual consultation - $80.00 per hour
Groups are normally held on Saturday mornings and afternoons and the second Wednesday of every month 11am-1pm. All groups eastern time zone.

In pursuing EMDRIA Certification, you are able to complete 15 of your 20 hours with a Consultant-In-Training. In the Institute for Creative Mindfulness training model, you are allowed to complete all 10 of your basic training consultation hours with an ICM Consultant-In-Training.

Renée Pitts, MSEd, LPCC, CDCA has earned a Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Youngstown State University. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a certified Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant. Renée is a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). She is also an EMDR Consultant and assists in teaching EMDR Therapy Part I and Part II trainings. She has worked in mental health treatment providing therapy as a residential and outpatient counselor. Her distinctive background includes the study of meditation techniques for over 20 years under several teachers in the United States. She has also traveled to India, Nepal, and Tibet to study ancient traditions of meditation. With a strong understanding of western science, combined with her practice in mind/body experiences and meditative techniques, Renée blends these as modalities into her counseling practice. She is also able to share a practical understanding of applying mindfulness and meditation to bring about a greater level of wellness and health into the lives of her clients. Renée provides instruction at a monthly meditation group she holds at Blue Star Family Counseling Services, Inc. The focus of her clinical work utilizes EMDR Therapy, as well as mindfulness and meditation, and she specializes in trauma, substance abuse and addiction, spirituality and religious values, and wellness.
Dru Perren is a Licensed Supervising Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA),Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst, Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant in training. She graduated from Ursuline College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science, and Youngstown State University in 2012 with a Master’s of Science in Education with emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Dru specializes in working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families. Dru has experience working with children, adolescence and adults that suffer from anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, or have experienced trauma. Outside of Blue Star, Dru also practices as a Behavior Analyst doing in home Applied Behavior Analysis with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and others with significant behavioral problems. Dru blends behavior analytic strategies along with the EMDR protocol to help each client improve their level of functioning.

Leah Fogt, MSW, LISW-S, CTP is an EMDRIA-Certified Therapist and a Consultant-in-Training working with Amber Stiles-Bodnar toward approved consultant status. She works in private practice in West Chester, Ohio, primarily serving adults and adolescents. She has experience working in community mental health, crisis intervention, and school-based counseling. Additionally, Leah is a Certified Trauma Practitioner with The National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children. As an avid yoga practitioner, Leah is passionate about helping clients build effective resources as an integral part of EMDR with an emphasis on Mindfulness practices. Leah also values use of Resource Development and Installation (RDI) in building resources and supporting stabilization.
Beth Shapiro, PhD, MSSA, LISW-S practices as a Clinical Social Worker and has her PhD in clinical psychology. She is an EMDR Certified Therapist and a Consultant-in-Training (working with Amber Stiles-Bodnar). Beth also holds certificates in End-of-Life Care from Smith College, and Compassionate Bereavement Care from the MISS Foundation. She has a private practice located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Beth works with individuals (primarily adults), couples, and families. Her specialties include trauma and trauma-informed care, cPTSD/PTSD, grief/loss, issues impacting the lives of people in the LGBTQ+ community, family systems/relationship dynamics, and aging. Beth has extensive experience working within healthcare, mental health, and hospice environments, and has a strong understanding of medical and ethical issues that can be encountered in these settings. Beth also has a special interest in the therapeutic nature of the human-animal bond. In addition to EMDR case consultation, Beth also provides Training Supervision for LSWs working toward independent licensure, and peer supervision. She serves as adjunct faculty at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, teaching direct practice topics. Her humanistic and strengths-based perspective fits well with her clinical work, and her teaching on the local and national levels about trauma/trauma-informed care, cPTSD, ethical issues, and LGBTQ+-informed practice.
Verna Glassing, MS, LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana. She has been licensed since 1996 and has practiced in various settings from psychiatric in-patient care to Therapeutic Group Home care. She has been in Private practice since 2013. Verna is a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). She is also an EMDR Consultant in Training (working under Amber Stiles-Bodnar). Verna has used integrative therapies including; psycho-education; wellness; art; drama; yoga and mindfulness practices to improve ones, mind, body and spirit on the healing journey. She is also serves as the Clinical Coordinator and Training Coordinator of the Yellowstone County, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Team to assist first responders dealing with traumatic workplace exposure.

Shannon Limerick-Gnas, MA, is a Licensed Psychologist in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. She has been licensed since 1988 and has practiced over 30 years in various settings to include a psychiatric inpatient unit, Partial Hospital Program, Community Mental Health Center, and Private Practice. She has a small private practice in Beaver PA, specializing in EMDR psychotherapy with individuals across the lifespan. Shannon is a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA and a Consultant in Training under Amber Stiles-Bodnar. Shannon uses the lens of EMDR to conceptualize therapy focus, goals, themes, and treatment with somatic blend while incorporating mindfulness, art, creative arts, breath work, drumming, imagery and other creative aspects to craft an individual treatment experience with her clients. She specializes in trauma, dissociation and ego state work, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, anxiety, grief and loss. Shannon also contracts as an Independent Prescriber of Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services and Family Based Services in Mercer County, PA, supervising evaluations of three masters level clinicians.

Dr. Noelle Chappelle is a LIMFT-S, LPC and AAMFT Supervisor Candidate licensed in the state of Ohio. She has earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy and her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision - Marriage and Family Therapy Track. She is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant in Training (under Amber Stiles-Bodner) and completed her basic training through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness. She currently owns Ascension Counseling & Therapy Services in Beachwood, Ohio where she practices full-time. She enjoys teaching others about EMDR Therapy and particularly enjoys incorporating culturally sensitive and systems-oriented thinking into EMDR Therapy. Her EMDR Therapy specialty areas include working with: children and their families who have experienced divorce/break-ups and other identified traumas, couples where one or both partners have experienced developmental or acute trauma, groups of people who have experienced a shared trauma, and incorporating art and sand tray Therapy interventions and attachment and mindfulness-based resources into treatment. She is particularly interested in increasing the availability of treatment utilizing EMDR Therapy to underserved populations.
Chris Vavro is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with Master's degrees in both Cognitive psychology and social work. Chris is a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA and Consultant in Training, working under Amber Stiles-Bodner. Chris has worked in residential and outpatient settings with dually diagnosed adults, and specializes in PTSD/c-PTSD, including co-occurring substance and behavioral addictions. She incorporates Somatic Psychology in her resourcing work, and utlilizes EMDR extensively with her clients. Chris has begun offering canine support to clients who desire it, and is partnering with another professional to develop equine therapy offerings. She currently works at a community mental health agency as well as developing her private practice. Chris is passionate about sharing her knowledge and looks forward to developing and delivering EMDR training courses.

Amber provides supervision to Counselor Trainees and Licensed Professional Counselors in the State of Ohio working towards independent licensure.
She also provides mentorship to those in the helping professions providing guidance and instruction to improve clinical mastery.
Laura received her Bachelor of Art in 2004 from Penn State University and her Master of Social Work degree in 2008 from Youngstown State University. Laura is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified EMDR Therapist, EMDR Consultant-in-Training and Certified Mindful Motherhood Group Facilitator. Laura has received certification from the Postpartum Stress Center in Philadelphia, PA in the treatment of perinatal and postpartum mood disorders. Laura specializes in the treatment of mothers from pregnancy through parenthood. Laura blends her knowledge of perinatal, postpartum and mothering stressors with the EMDR protocol to eliminate dysfunctional thinking, feelings and behaviors and create healthy mindsets and an overall sense of well-being for women.
