I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, Consultant and Trainer through EMDRIA. I specialize in complex trauma, PTSD, abuse, women and children/adolescent issues, drug & alcohol issues, co-occurring disorders, Military/Veteran/Law Enforcement/First Responders and their families, LGBTQIA+ issues, and severe mental illness populations.

EMDRIA requires 10 hours of consultation by an Approved Consultant in EMDR as part of the foundational training process.


EMDRIA requires 20 hours of consultation by an Approved Consultant in EMDR as part of the certification process.

Functions of Consultation (According to EMDRIA Training Standards)

•Use of EMDR therapy within a structured treatment plan 

•Application of the standard EMDR Therapy procedural steps 

•Case conceptualization and target selection 

•Client readiness including inclusion, exclusion, and cautionary criteria for EMDR therapy 

•Client safety and effective outcomes using the standard EMDR Therapy procedural steps 

•Integration of EMDR Therapy into therapist’s existing clinical setting 

•Specific application of skills

•Consultation is about real cases and not experiences that occur in practicum

Availability for individual consultations are Mondays until 1pm EST, Wednesdays until 7pm EST and Fridays until 5pm EST. Saturdays and Sundays may also be arranged.

In pursuing EMDRIA Certification, you are able to complete 15 of your 20 hours with a Consultant-In-Training. In the Institute for Creative Mindfulness training model, you are allowed to complete all 10 of your basic training consultation hours with an ICM Consultant-In-Training.

RENEE PITTS

Renée Pitts, MSEd, LPCC, CDCA has earned a Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Youngstown State University. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a certified Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant. Renée is a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). She is also an EMDR Consultant and assists in teaching EMDR Therapy Part I and Part II trainings. She has worked in mental health treatment providing therapy as a residential and outpatient counselor. Her distinctive background includes the study of meditation techniques for over 20 years under several teachers in the United States. She has also traveled to India, Nepal, and Tibet to study ancient traditions of meditation. With a strong understanding of western science, combined with her practice in mind/body experiences and meditative techniques, Renée blends these as modalities into her counseling practice. She is also able to share a practical understanding of applying mindfulness and meditation to bring about a greater level of wellness and health into the lives of her clients. Renée provides instruction at a monthly meditation group she holds at Blue Star Family Counseling Services, Inc. The focus of her clinical work utilizes EMDR Therapy, as well as mindfulness and meditation, and she specializes in trauma, substance abuse and addiction, spirituality and religious values, and wellness.

dru perren

Dru Perren is a Licensed Supervising Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA),Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst, Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant-in-Training. She graduated from Ursuline College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science, and Youngstown State University in 2012 with a Master’s of Science in Education with emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Dru specializes in working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families. Dru has been working with individuals with Autism since 2009 and has researched and presented on the topic at the local, state, and national level. Dru blends behavior analytic strategies along with the EMDR protocol to help each client improve their level of functioning.

Dru has experience working with children, adolescence and adults that suffer from anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, stress management, or have experienced trauma. Dru also has experience working with members of the military, veterans, law enforcement, and first responders. Dru is a member of her local county’s Critical Incident Stress Management Response Team, where she can assist in debriefing professionals that have been subjected to a potentially traumatic event within the community.

Noelle

Chappelle

Dr. Noelle Chappelle is a LIMFT-S, LPC and AAMFT Supervisor Candidate licensed in the state of Ohio. She has earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy and her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision - Marriage and Family Therapy Track. She is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant in Training (under Amber Stiles-Bodnar) and completed her basic training through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness. She currently owns Ascension Counseling & Therapy Services in Beachwood, Ohio where she practices full-time. She enjoys teaching others about EMDR Therapy and particularly enjoys incorporating culturally sensitive and systems-oriented thinking into EMDR Therapy. Her EMDR Therapy specialty areas include working with: children and their families who have experienced divorce/break-ups and other identified traumas, couples where one or both partners have experienced developmental or acute trauma, groups of people who have experienced a shared trauma, and incorporating art and sand tray Therapy interventions and attachment and mindfulness-based resources into treatment. She is particularly interested in increasing the availability of treatment utilizing EMDR Therapy to underserved populations.

chris vavro

Chris Vavro is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with Master's degrees in both Cognitive psychology and social work.  Chris is a Certified EMDR Therapist through EMDRIA and Consultant in Training, working under Amber Stiles-Bodnar. Chris has worked in residential and outpatient settings with dually diagnosed adults, and specializes in PTSD/c-PTSD, and dissociative disorders. She incorporates Clinical Hypnosis, Ego StateTherapy, and Somatic Psychology into her EMDR practice. Chris offers canine support to in-person clients, and has started training a new therapy puppy. Chris started A Space For Healing in June of 2020, and is currently expanding her practice by adding like minded clinicians who also practice EMDR. Chris is passionate about continuing her own education, and looks forward to becoming an EMDR trainer. She is super passionate about her dogs Cezanne and Strider, creek-walking, and cairn-building.

Nikki Gordon

Nikki is an experienced EMDR trauma therapist, specializing throughout her career in working with victims and survivors of interpersonal violence, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Her approach to therapy is to work collaboratively with clients, empowering them to decide for themselves what the healing process looks like. With a keen awareness that there is no hierarchy of pain, Nikki maintains a trauma focused space, and approaches each client with dignity and respect. Her experience includes collaborating with legal and medical professionals to assist victims in all aspects of their trauma. Nikki holds a masters degree in community psychology and has a post-masters certificate in trauma informed care through UW-Milwaukee. She is also an EMDRIA certified therapist, and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals.

Eryn Skye Phelps

Eryn is a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Washington. She believes in the profound healing abilities of nature as well as feeling understood, rather than judged. She is an Internal Family Systems therapist and certified in EMDR by EMDRIA. She uses these modalities to help individuals recognize their inherent strength and value and release burdensome memories and beliefs. Eryn has lived and worked across the country from Alaska to New England at residential treatment centers, wilderness therapy programs, summer camps, public and private schools, and community health centers. She earned a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, and a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Montana. She spends much of her time outside with her dog Anchor, who helps keep her grounded. While Anchor is not a certified therapy dog, he is pretty good at listening. 

Eryn first became a licensed counselor under the supervision of Will White, co-founder of Summit Achievement in Stow, Maine. She continues to study EMDR under Amber Stiles-Bodnar and Jamie Marich of The Institute for Creative Mindfulness.  She completed Level One Internal Family Systems training in Ericeira, Portugal under Susan McConnell and Osnat Arbel.

Valerie 

Chu

Valerie is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California, a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) in New York and a certified EMDR clinician with over 13 years of specialized experience in treating trauma, anxiety and stress-related issues. 

Valerie received her MA in art therapy from New York University, and her BA from Yale University. She also obtained post-graduate training from the International Trauma Studies Program, as well as the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program.

Aside from helping clients in her private practice in Los Angeles, Valerie's experience working with trauma-affected children and adults ranges from providing individual and group art therapy to women and children in crisis at domestic violence shelters to HIV-affected genocide survivors in Rwanda. She was previously on staff at an acute psychiatric care facility where she facilitated therapeutic groups for patients with severe depression, schizophrenia, multiple suicide attempts, dual diagnosis and complex trauma histories.  

 

Valerie's passion is to help those affected by traumatic experiences find healing, freedom and restoration through the use of creative arts and holistic supportive therapy.

Abby 

Morgan

Abigail Morgan obtained her Bachelor of Social Work from Radford University and her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her basic training for EMDR in 2014 and
became EMDRIA certified in 2019.

Abby is also an adjunct faculty member at Virginia Wesleyan University in the Social Work Department. In 2019, she opened Sea Level Counseling and Wellness in Norfolk, VA. This is a group practice with a collaborative-based treatment approach that includes trauma-informed Mental Health Therapists, a Nurse Practitioner, and a Registered Dietitian. Abby uses EMDR and mindfulness-based techniques to assist her clients in healing their trauma.

Abby’s areas of specialty are working with PTSD, women’s issues, attachment struggles connected to intimate relationship difficulties; codependency, postpartum depression and anxiety, and phase of life transitions that are impacted by past trauma. Abby is an LGBTQ-ally and is connected with the Headstrong Program assisting active duty service members and veterans with trauma therapy. EMDR therapy has been transformative to Abby’s practice.

Her future goals of being an EMDRIA-certified Consultant are to assist area clinicians meet their own EMDR goals and to broaden the education and usage of EMDR in therapy settings.

Gebhardt

Ann Gebhardt is a Licensed Supervising Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S) Licensed under the Ohio Counselor Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Ann obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1997 and a Master of Science and Education degree with emphasis in Community Counseling in 2013 from Youngstown State University. She has provided counseling services in different settings including office, home, school, and community locations as needed to accommodate various populations. Ann has worked to empower and educate the families and individuals involved with mental health treatment.  She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with in individual, marriage, family, and group counseling. Farah

kurji

Farah Kurji BSW, MSW, RCSW/LCSW is a licensed Clinical Social worker in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is licensed in Alberta, Ontario and can also serve the US. She has been a clinician since 2003 and is passionate about her work and commitment to lifelong learning. Farah is a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and has been engaged in providing EMDR therapy since 2015. She is also an EMDR Consultant in Training. 

Farah integrates humor, CBT, yoga and mindfulness as well as psychoeducation and life skills into her practice. She has appreciated various experiences working in a small town in Ontario and served children to long term care residents in her work. Morse

Laura Morse M.Ed., LPC, CST is a licensed professional counselor licensed in Pennsylvania & Maryland. She is the Executive Director of Sun Point Wellness Center, a private practice in Lancaster, PA specializing in sexual therapy, relationship therapy, and EMDR trauma therapy.  Morse earned the Certified Sex Therapist designation from AASECT, and is trained as a Level 3 Gottman Couples Therapist.  Additionally, she provides Supervisor in Training supervision for therapists training to become AASECT certified sex therapists.

 

Morse works collaboratively with individuals and couples with a humanistic approach, and embraces an EMDR treatment planning process with all of her clients. Zimmer

Ben Zimmer is an Independent Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in the state of Ohio. Ben is a relational EMDR therapist who believes therapy is all about connection, safety, and meeting the client where they are. Ben was trained by the Parnell Institute and is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant in Training (under Amber Stiles-Bodnar). Ben founded Larchmere Center for Well-being (LCW) after moving back home to Cleveland in 2017. Christina Sauers

Christina is an EMDR certified therapist and a CIT (Consultant in training). She resides and practices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Christina specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma and complex trauma. Christina has worked with children and families with a number of mental health related struggles including PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, RAD, and Grief and Loss.
